Thinking green with this incredible spring weather

Just in case you need another excuse to be outdoors, please consider pitching in to help green our parks.  We still have young saplings available for adoption in Fred Hamilton Park, Roxton Road Parkette, and George Ben Park.  There are incredible tree species still available like Northern Catalpa, Hackberry, Ironwood, Kentucky Coffee Tree, a Shagbark Hickory, plus some Elms, Oaks, and Maples.  Experts are suggesting this will be a hot and dry summer, so the trees may need us more than ever.  It’s not too onerous, and can be a nice outing with a family member. Please contact to reserve your tree(s) now and find out more about what’s involved, or ask about other ways to help green our parks.
We will also be spending time this Sunday afternoon planting our “Scentsational” herb garden, cleaning up and planting the WaterHarvest garden, and getting our hand pump and rain barrel all back into action.  If you want to come out and help, we’d love to see you.  Planting starts at noon,  so turn up then or just as soon as you finish your lunch.  We’ll even have coffee for you!
