Calling All Gardeners

We are requesting proposals from interested groups (schools, after school clubs, community, not-for-profit, seniors, etc) to steward the new rain garden in Fred Hamilton Park.  The rain garden is a vital part of our larger WaterHarvest project, supported by the City, ACO Technologies, LiveGreen, TRCA, and FoRRP.

Responsibilities will include design layout (if desired), planting, weeding, watering and mulching though the summer.  The season generally runs from late April to October.  We would ideally like a group who can take this on for a 3 year period to help establish the garden and ensure it will thrive.  If spending time in the outdoors, and nurturing a greener park appeals to your group, we’d love to hear from you.

Write us at friends@roxtonroadparks.com, give us a short description about your group and tell us why they would like to take this on.  We appreciate hearing of your interest by Monday February 29th.  If you have any questions about the project, please contact Melana@roxtonroadparks.com.
