On Sunday January 25, 2015, FoRRP hosted the 3rd Annual “Get out of Bed, Have Breakfast with Fred” Pancake breakfast in Fred Hamilton Park.
It was a mild (compared to last year!) bright sunny day. Pancakes made from Jill’s delicious batter were served with organic blueberries, bananas, and mini M&Ms by Tim who demonstrated his polished pancake making technique.
With no snow, the children played winter soccer. Entrants in the “ugly toque” contest faced stiff competition. The winners took home great prizes thanks to Pat. Councillor Mike Layton came by and demonstrated his fine pancake flipping technique. Our new trustee Ausma Malik also joined the festivities and took a turn flipping. A mysterious blueberry pie magically appeared and proved a real treat.
Thanks to the Events Committee Pat, Rhea, Tim, and Bob for all their planning and hard work that made this annual event a great success. Special thanks to Zac for for his usual technical and general support. And to Jill for her batter and for supplying power for the grill.
See you all on Environment Day April 25!
