On Sunday Oct. 26 2014 FoRRP hosted the 3rd Annual Night of the Living Fred in Fred Hamilton Park. Perfect autumn weather, pumpkin and costume design contests, games, and loot bags made for a wonderful spooky event. Two Halloween films and fresh popcorn rounded off the evening. A visit from a living Fred Hamilton, son of the councillor after whom the park is named, made it a very special event indeed.
Fred Hamilton ate a celebratory piece of pumpkin pie, the first piece of our Pies in the Park initiative. A late surprise visit by councillor Mike Layton the day before the election made for a perfect ending to a very special Night of the Living Fred.
Thanks to all the members of the events committee, Pat (games, films, and lemonade), John and his company Main Attraction Entertainment for the film equipment, Rhea for the pumpkins, prizes, and loot bags, and Tim and Bob for the popcorn. Thanks also to Jill for her usual organizing help. Special thanks to Metro for their generous gift certificate.
