On Sunday Oct. 5 the 2nd annual Park Crawl sponsored by the David Suzuki Homegrown National Park Project made its way by foot, bike, and canoe portage along the former Garrison Creek. Starting at Christie Pits, participants visited Bickford, Fred Hamilton, and ended in Trinity Bellwoods Park. Participants were led into Fred Hamilton Park by local Afro-Brazilian stilt-drumming troupe Maraca Tall and the percussion posse Samba Squad.

And the day was highlighted by a visit with David Suzuki looking spry at 78 and delighting various guests, Councillor Mike Layton, Jode Roberts of Homegrown, and FoRRP members with his inspiring and insightful comments. A truly wonderful day and a reminder that individuals and community groups can make a significant contribution to the greening of our communities and making our parks inclusive spaces for fun and educational events.
Congratulations, it is great to read of such wonderful work!
