Environment Day in Fred Hamilton Park was a great opportunity for FoRRP to get the word out on the park revitalization process, and do some fundraising as well! Funds from the pay-what-you-can BBQ and “Who is Fred Hamilton?” t-shirts we sold will go toward park revitalization efforts on behalf of the community.
Speaking of the t-shirts, we still have some available for purchase (mostly in smaller women’s and kid’s sizes); contact email@example.com to inquire. As you can see, they are very stylish, and a great conversation starter to boot, since very few people seem to know who either Fred Hamilton or George Ben are, even though our parks are named after these esteemed fellows. (Luckily, FoRRP has convened a History sub-committeed to find out more, so stay tuned!)
Also on Environment Day, FoRRP launched their first community survey to gather input on Food in our Parks. Make your opinions known and fill one out online right now here. It only takes a minute and your feedback will help us shape the way food can be an integral part of our neighborhood parks in the future.
And thank you!
